Hi, I have hit a snag swapping a 3 bearing engine with a 5 bearing one.... All the parts fit but none of the dolts :-( I'm going to try and pick up the correct bolts but is anyone knows the thred size of the following just incase i need to improvise while waiting for delivery of the correct...

ok well I have the 5 brg flywheel and housing, but im a bit worried if the starter motor wont fit? will i need to find a 12v 5brg starter or is there any way around this? Many thanks for this, its most helpful

Hi, Wow that was quick ! :-) Interesting comment re the colour as the engine came from a 109 FFR and was already painted with military "recon" blue? I've checked the engine numbers and its shown to be a 5 brg 8:1 engine and has the ribs on the block casting as well.... Not a problem as it got...

Evening All ! ok I'm about to swap out a old tired 3 bearing 2.25 petrol for a ex military 5 bearing one. Question 1: I'm reusing the ancillary's from the engine including the starter motor... so should I use the old flywheel from the 3 bearing engine or the one that came with the replacement...

Hi, OK I have started pulling the engine down and I have decided I want to repaint it the eggshell blue before putting it into the swb. So... anyone know where I can get the paint, will it have to be heat resistant and should I use a undercoat??? Many thanks in advance Andy
