You are right MHM bu I think a hole in thermostat not only slowing the speed at which the engine gets to operating temperature but it reduces the thermal shock as radiator will not be so cold. And without a bypass or a hole in thermostat, puting an EWP will not be effective as the hot coolant...

Look for garage that specialist on drive shaft. they might be able to fix it for you. I know one in melbourne that LR dealer is their customer.

I cant remember exactly but i think it starts to open at 88 oC and fully open around 95 oC. No, the housing i different to KV6. MHM posted the pic of the KV6 thermostat a while ago

At least the engine doesnt go to the stage where it is way too hot and the cooling system cant cool it down (eg: KV6)
