But has Land Rover approved it? BMW use the same gearbox but don't utilise it the same way, so I would think about it before I would put a cheap oil in my gearbox.

What noise are you hearing, have you run the vehicle on a two post hoist with the wheels free to the speed you hear the noise and try and track the noise down.

Yes I am inland, this Rangy has seen Oz about four times over and her home was and still is Canberra since the day she was bought. I am the second owner of this Rangy, took ownership of her in December 2012.
Most of the time it is only the bracket that breaks, I don't think they are too expensive, but the AMK compressor is not long out in the market and never had to just renew the AMK's bracket. So it's a heard call, sorry.
There are some things I am going to change and make work for me and what I need the vehicle to be comfortably capable of. The rest will stay the same to prove the autxhantisety.

The 1.8 used two different pumps and the wiring from memory was different. The two thick wires is the power and earth for the pump, the thin ones are for the fuel gauge. Just check with the old pump where the wires went originally and match it on the new/ other pump, just manually with a battery...
