My rebuild thread! 3.9 disco v8

I don't get this.........if the flywheel/flexplate is removed there should not be a problem renewing the rear main oil seal, and there is more than one bolt holding the flywheel/flexplate.

Nothing to worry on the main bearings. Why would the polo eat the head gasket, did you have some cooling concerns?

    02 sensor voltage output

I read your other thread, you are wasting your time.......with the worn cam lobe you have you will not get your fuel trim sorted.

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

    Freelander drive shaft wobble

No, no shaking, vibrations can mean lots of things to different people, have you checked run out of the wheels and does this wobble go away anytime during the drive.

That is amazing, is there a specific brand he sells, and that seems a bit long waiting for your cam, whom is helping you...Melcolm, he is fantastic.

    Freelander drive shaft wobble

Depends on how much play you have, if its like 2/3mm I would not bother. You have not checked the exhaust system.

That is exactly the one I got myself, hope it is what I imagine it to be. Yours would most probably run before mine, I am going quite slow.

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

Ok......so today I spent some time starting assembling my baby. Cam fitted. Cam followers fitted. Timing gear/assembly fitted. The last photo is my special tool I just made to use for finding true TDC, I spent a bit of time getting the correct length so when I tighten it down I get the more or...

My rebuild thread! 3.9 disco v8

Out of Australia?......that is interesting, whom is supplying your cam and lifters, and what are you fitting, how wild or mild I mean. I got mine from camtech in Sydney, and gone for the more torque at the lower rpm for my 3,5. Hope I made a good choice, only time will tel.

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

These are some of my parts that arrived, someone made a negative comment about Britpart products, I have used the brand for many years and never had a quality issue. Or was I just lucky?

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

These are my baby's rocker shaft's before, during, and after assembly, ready for work. So most of my parts arrived just the exhaust system still to arrive but that wont stop me from starting assembly.

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

Ahhhhh that is interesting, there is a connector under the dash I had to disconnect, I have not investigated what and where it's going but thought by the placement of it there could be some signals to and from the engine and instrument cluster that run along that connector. But if you are...

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

Thanx for that, the reason for the wiring diagrams is for me converting to carburettor, and I am selling my EFI harness so I need to sort some wiring to work with my carby. I don't want to waste money buying a manual and then find it was a bit useless.

Zf6 second oil change -filter change or not ?

Mate I have just mentioned it as cheap for you to make sure, if you are confident and as you say LR has approved the oil then I am happy with you, if you can save the extra and being safe then you are going the right way.
