    difficult starting.

Glow plugs is my feeling too, you can test them, with a good 12V battery, best is from the vehicles battery, they should glow red hot at the tip within two seconds and after about eight seconds at least 6-8mm of the tip should now glow.

What have you done to your Landie today.

That seems very unlikely, it might only be a very small marking and may only be a "T" What make rings the brand I mean did you buy?

The ring spacing should be at 120 degrees, or the easy way like a Merc badge. The conrod has a mark on that has to also face the front of the engine, usually a small dimple. You can fit the pistons in pairs, I work from the front and work my way back, fit 1,2 then 3,4, then 5,6 then 7,8.

The piston will have a marking on the crown that faces the front(crank pulley) hope you marked witch piston came out of witch pot, put them back in the same pot. Rings are usually marked "TOP" you fit them facing the top(crown) of the piston. If for some reason they are not marked look at the...

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

Thanx for the help. I do, but for some reason I think there was tinkered so now I am in doubt. I see the new manifold has a out let at the back and searching on Rimmers parts I see there is a fitting that should go on there that the EFI don't have, I will order me one. For what I can figure out...

    My 3.5 Rangy rebuild

This is the standard timing marks on the crank pulley, before I fit the pulley I will find true TDC again like you do before you dial your camshaft in and then I will compare how accurate the factory marks are on the pulley,if not good I will put my own mark on for TDC and tune the engine from...

    So.....how about a update here.
  17. rangy35

    Mysterious starting issue...

Sorry pressed the wrong button.......if that is the case then the throttle pedal/driver demand is not sending the signal to the engine, just remove the electric connector from the pedal spray with good contact cleaner and just fit and remove it 3/4 times to make a clean good contact. Test and...
