It'll make no difference, the air bag is for internal passengers, the roo bar is to clear kangaroo's from the road at night so that the vehicle is not disabled in the outback. so if safety is your main issue fit the air bags on the roo bar so that you don't mangle pedestrians

I would get a multi meter on the glow plugs as well, sounds similar to my problem, especially when cold, but jump from secondary battery always fired it up. Changed glow plugs, no further problems or Take them out to test, by applying 12 v across them, they should heat up enough to smoke WD40
