Yup, but haulage contractor sounds better; maybe I will try and make that stick here:D ...... What are you usually hauling? I haul concrete and stone in the summer.....sometimes corn too. But I am not a owner...just an operator.

    Experience of 100,000 miles in a Disco2 TD5

I would love to here that story too, but I am guessing it will not be pretty:D We love land rovers, but all must admit that when it comes to dependability they are not the greatest. I am used to vehicles that will go 200,000 without anything except oilchanges and tires every couple of years. I...

    Steering shake

Yeah, dons right about the speed. Shaking at certian speeds is most likely a tire issue....either out of ballance or a broken belt. If a broken belt is bad enough you will be able to see the bands sticking through the tire a little. If not that bad they will need to be ballanced to find out...

    Steering shake

I would have your brake disk checked, and have the front two tires taken off and put on a balancer, that will tell if there are any broken belts. The shake on the bridge aproach sounds like a bad ball joint though. If they have grease fittings you can pump them full of grease and drive it again...

    Deisel engine turn off

I never said they did not exist...I said that I didn't think you would have them in your little land rovers. Don't know a second language, never had that opportunity in school here when I grew up, but I feel that is importiant so my kids will be given that opportunity. Never needed a passport...

    Steering shake

Warped brake disk. Shaking at high speeds (not while braking) usually means a broken belt in a tire.

What MPG can you realistically get from a Landy/Disco?

Guess I should not have been putting diesel in that other tank all this time:eek: Actually, they have to be set for one or the other, They don't have a switch to flip back and forth. The service man has to come out and switch it.

What MPG can you realistically get from a Landy/Disco?

Never seen a forklift? We have toyotas where I worked that are diesel/LPG. Have to run them on LPG when they are inside the buildings. Our EPA guide for a 2000 Landrover disco has a fuel economy rating of 13/17 mpg. So in reality its about 9/14 mpg.
