I have had a new one two years ago, it was one of the first things that was changed, I had the alternator changed before christmas, and they tried to order another one but they were on back order.... since changing the alternator I have gone from 3 days to three hours.... WTF is going on!!!!!!!

I have what is now quite a rapid battery drain on my P38, I have posted previously and covered the basics, what i would really like is a diagnostics engineer to sort it - can anyone make any recommendations in the North Wales / Cheshire area ? thanks

I have Janspeed on my P38, sounds great, but not too loud, I would highly recommend them!

yep just ran some test and the "invertor pack" is f**ked, I have ordered a new alternator - hopefully this will solve the problem

Its still on its orginal alternator, I'm feeling hopeful that may be the cause...

o.k got a few things to try.. I have checked my service bills, Ive had the BECM replaced... that did'nt do the trick... next service they replaced the RF recevier... Datetex, if the alternator is showing a significant leakage would this mean the alternator is duff ?

As I say, I have had an isolator swithed fitted, as the garage was convinced this was the problem, I now flick a switch and it renders my fob useless, therefore I presume nothing else should wake it? that being said, the park light still glowed dimly, until I pressed the mode button as...

Oh well worth a try, pressed on Sat when I got the post, jumped in for work this morning and it just caught, one more turn of the starter and it would have been jump leads..... so I'm still looking for someone good at diagnostics if anyone has a recommendation ?

well it switched off the little red light for park gear, so at the very least thats a bit of battery saved.... if it sorts out the problem.. i will be well chuffed to say the least!
