    Leaky bit?

I'd be surprised if it wasn't leaking, if you look underneath mine its covered in oil from the sump back to the transfer box :D I put it down to being a Land Rover, if its not leaking its out of oil

    Leaky bit?

    Kenlowe Hot Start

Hi guys, I imagine this has been covered before but I have been searching and haven't found an answer.. I've pulled my dads old Kenlowe hot start (the older block type) out of his V8 Problem being I want to install it on my 300tdi. I have the original instructions but I cant seem to figure...

    Odd brake fault

When were the brakes changed? and where? squeaking possibly down to no copper grease on rear of pads or the callipers weren't cleaned of brake dust before reassembly. with regards to the dash lights, the TC is controlled by the ABS sensors so I'd start there. The shuddering could be...

Could it be this simple? Coolant issues

Normal until its bled, if its been bled and you still find there is bubbling then its probably the gasket letting exhaust fumes into the cooling circuit.

    Head Gasket change?

the head only needs skimming if it overheated, if it never overheats then the ally wont warp :)

    Discovery 3 oil leak

go and get a can of leak detector spray and a can of brake cleaner. Clean the housing with the brake cleaner and then spray the leak detector on the housing when the engine is running, should be able to see where its coming from, maybe cracked filter housing?

Could it be this simple? Coolant issues

Sounds like an air lock in the coolant system if it bubbles over when the caps on. Park it so the nose of the car is facing uphill and leave the coolant cap off, run the engine and use the bleed bolt on top of the thermo housing to remove any excess air. It's a very easy gasket to change as the...

    immobiliser

Easiest quick fix until you can be bothered to wait for sunshine is to take a look at the lift pump; it has an electrical bullet connector going into the solenoid. When immobilised the fuel pump solenoid is closed so it cannot be started even if jumped, take a length of wire and two bullet...

    Temperature gauge issues

Thanks for the help guys, I do agree on a lazy thermostat. I've definitely seen a few that make up their own mind whether or not they decide to open. All is well so far but I cant see how removing the viscous fan would make it get colder? the heaters still blow burning hot air when the temp drops

Does this sound like a fuel lift pump issue ?

    Valve clearances need adjusting. Sam

Could it be this simple? Coolant issues

Sounds like the head gasket starting to go. Try these fault finding steps: 1- Run the engine with the header tank cap removed, the level should remain still, any bubbling and the gasket has split between the exhaust chambers (hence the pressurisation of your header tank) 2- Smell the...

    Temperature gauge issues

I always run it without the viscous fan, haven't got a Kenlow fitted as of yet but do intend to fit one. I think the thermostat was either a Bearmach or Britpart so I'll grab a genuine Land Rover item as I'm sick of shoddy pattern parts! The brake fluid level was indeed just below the...

    Temperature gauge issues

Hi guys just asking for a little advice, my T/rusty 300tdi with 158k [/URL] Its got a wandering temperature gauge and by that I mean it never gets too hot Its had over the last 2 years -Refurbed cylinder head + gasket set fitted - no problems there, no mixing of coolant/ oil or overheating...

    Gates timing belt kit

Dayco are a very good brand, OEM equivalent for Land Rover I bought a genuine Land Rover serpentine belt and it was stamped with Dayco, so safe to say that land rover are happy with Dayco's quality. Land Rover also recommend various tensioners made by Dayco as an OEM equivalent.

    RRC winch bumper on D1

I'm 99% sure they're exactly the same profile etc as I once fitted my fathers bull bars to my disco from his late soft dash vogue SE, all the headlights lined up. Even the 'Land Rover' lettering on the bonnet lined up true

    RRC winch bumper on D1

Yes it will fit. The winch may need new brushes potentially more depending on what you find if you win it, the RRC uses the same chassis as a D1

Someone who knows about relays please :)

No it didn't, none of this has been easy, ideally you'd need a donor car

Someone who knows about relays please :)

Hi Guys, i'm in the process of stripping my fathers long forgotten about RRC, it has full heated and electric memory leather seats. originally i planned to just whip the seat loom out and plug it up to my disco, but the RRC uses a hardwired seat ECU. im not concerned about losing the...
