best of luck. it's a common problem on new bmw 320 d's aswell! a diesel will run on the engine oil. seen my mates 110 hi cap do it, he drove it into the gate post to stop it. it sat there for 5 minutes spinning all the wheels! TD5 engines are crap, getting LR to admit it is another thing.

ebays the best bet, buy a wreck , a ****ter!, and get it shipped back.

i use a synergic 300 amp mig machine and a 250 amp acdc tig set in my day to day work. VERY good on all parts of a landrover :scratching_chin: It takes a great amount of skill to make a weld look good and have enough penatration etc to do the job properly. A decent mig machine is a must IMO

there a lad with a very well tuned td5 90 in a mag this month. whats the spec of that one? VGT?VNT or hybrid?? Or get an auto! never in the wrong gear ;)

FFS why would it throw a fault? its the standard LR purging procedure. it purges the air out of the fuel system after a filter change or in my case, an engine change. No cranking required so a good battery rather than cranking an airlocked system and NOT starting. Where did you get that...

whats the problem. it works on all td5's discos and defenders? go try it and stop Effin about! :doh: i think you have a holed pipe, could be on the return and allow air into the system. common to replace the rear pipes

i was launching my uncles yatch in Perth Oz with my old vw camper! Just get a front reciver fitted to the range rover and an extension bar for the trailer. If your lucky the trailer will drag the range rover in the drink aswell.

nothing obvious except for elavated oil levels and smokyness. really is a lottery this TD5 engine. hen mines goes i'm fitting a tdv6!

get yourself over to the defender2 forum. full of the **** over there!

have you checked the fuel pipework. there known for wearing through at the rear. coud be drawing air in that way. try priming the pump, ignition on and pump the pedal 5 times. the MIL light will light up and the pump will run for 30 secs.

doesn't sound like there enough oil in the box. you have to run the engine and go through the gears whilst filling the box, put the transfer in N and foot hard on the brakes just in case. lights are a dodgy connection i expect
