    Wipers

The grub screws on mine always loosen over time. I have a cable tie from the wiper spring to the spindle to prevent the wipers from ejecting. Happens once on the A1M in the ****ing rain once , fortunate it was the passenger side!

    Buying A Defender Advice!

To find the right one them be prepared to travel. Mine was a 200 mile round trip to get. eBay and auto trader are a good bet. Make sure you scrutinise the docs and serial no's to make sure engine and chassis match up. There are lots stolen so a lot of ringers. If it's too good to be true then it...

    Really slow clutch fluid leak?

Check the bell housing wading plug hole. Mine had the same symptoms and it was the slave just leaking tiny amounts not enough to drip but could see it was damp there

    wiper drive cable

Unscrew the 19mm bolt that is on the end of the drive cable that attaches to the motor, Undo the 2 screws holding the motor on to the bulkhead, turn the motor around and there will be 4 small bolts (6mm I think) that hold the cover on to the motor, once off there is a circlip that holds the...

Engine removal for oil leak repair

There is a good garage thread in the freelander section. Have a read through that you might find a better garage locally that others have used. As others have said for £2k they are having a laugh. Engine removal in a landy is very straight forward for a garage or someone at home having a go them...

Project... Where to buy a cheap one to?

Have a drive around the countryside and see of you can see an old farm hack that's being used as a temporary hen house at the back of a yard. You will probably get it cheap but there's no guarantee as to how much it would cost to put it right

    New alarm

I got a that ham approved alarm and immob fitted to my previous 110. It made a grand difference of £20 at renewal. I wouldn't be fussed with the discount as long as it gets you out your bed when it goes off and is a pain for a scrote to deactivate

    Which pinion seal?

Hi James, Could you explain a bit more about the measure of force bit. I haven't needed to do anything that requires that type of assembly before. I was planning on re using the original bearings and just replacing the seal. Unless you think I should do other bits whilst I have it in pieces...

    Which pinion seal?

That's the thing, I can't find a torque for it just a measure of force thing that you do with a spring balance

    Which pinion seal?

I am planning on doing mine but it is a Salisbury axle. (1996 110 CSW) The manual I have doesn't give a specific torque that you should tighten it back up to I think the figs it has are force figures which you do with a spring balance?? Anyone done one of these?

    12 seats vs insurance quotes

I have a 9 seater and there was only a few companies that would cover it. The best deals I got were from admiral and flux. I went with admiral but think I will change to flux next year as they give green lane cover too. I would check your policy schedule as the number of seats will be specified...

If you have a look in the freelander section someone did a good land rover garage thread. Have a scroll through that and you might find a good independent in your area
