Looks like it's leaking pinion to seal side and not casing to seal.... it had this problem when I bought the car 9 years ago...I changed it out for another of the brown ones and it seemed OK until just recently. ..so I've changed it again for a cheaper black...

    Mine would sometimes not open or close a pain if you closed them while moving by accident. Turned out to be the switch..take it out pull it apart and spray some swith lubricant in the part that controls mirrors fold/unfold. The contracts just became dirty/dead spotted on mine..moving the ball...

    Diff went bang

    Wedge a socket or similar between bolt and prop and crank the bolt out..takes a lot of spanner work but does the trick. My splines where rusted solid too..had to wire brush and grease splines to get vcu back on.
