thanks teddy that is the answer i have ask for and waited for, for a while.(after several times of asking)...when i have bleed screw out and cap off with engine running ive never had coolant out of that pipe .....always just flowing passed ive looked with torch and it has alway just gone though...

thanks teddy, il give that ago cant hurt i guess, can you tell me while engine is running header cap is off top bleed screw out should i still get a flow out of the hole? when ive done it previous i get flow with engine off but nothing coming out when engine running, i just see it going past...

i do have another query also tho from what garage said. in the picture....wen i take the circled pipe off and shove hosepipe into expansion tank to flush system....should i get powerfull flow(hose pressure)...or a trickle? im thinking hose pressure.

yes i did digi,they tested any,not to me to tell em how to do the job, i just know when i rang to say i was getting car towed home they said its back ogether and full of water..i didnt check that tho.

i did move them nodges and im still going to address that issue,how ever since i re built and flush oil and re filled oil there is no evidense of water in oil? just picked car up from garage and drove it home 15 miles at a steady 40 ish. garage told me they had filled water so its able to...

dont know yet trax, car coming home friday as im not paying 1029 quid for the garage to do the job.so il look into it more before buying

P38dseGAV i am in bulkington,near nuneaton. ive had the car at a garage for a test and sniff test passed so work ive done is good they said....bad news is ....previous owner/s put a seal of some description in water/rad.......so the head is blocked.....no water to front of engine or to...

as title says....all the work i did for my hg change was correct, sniff test came up negative...however...the head is blocked from a previous owners attempt at a repair, k seal,rad weld...something .......its clogged up stopping water circulating round whole engine hence why i cant get rid of...

thanks htr, as regards liners, they have already been turned while head was off, be it right be it wrong after id seen the one that lift i thought id best check if the others were loose...soooo they were turned....i will be using an engineers straight edge to check head for flatness at work...

now thats a very helpful write up nodges thankyou.....i was looking at rave to remove pistons and immediatley saw a flaw in the plan after undoing the caps will the shim fallout? when re fitting the caps...will the shim fallout?

obviously i have to buy a new gasket again , but i can re use the bolts ?

any tips on doing the liners properly fanatic? the rest i think i can do.....after learning the hard way the first time i know my mistakes:)

thanks all for advice.... at this time im in two minds wether to re do the job and do it right this time....we now have a second car so i can take this off the road for a couple of weeks at least as i only get weekedns to do work outside as my garage wont fit the car in anyway...... i dont...

fanatic.......my plan was to do a flush and new oil to see....but...if liners are loose is there anypoint?....i was able to turn all four liners whilst head was off. have i got major problems? i love this car but i aint got the time or money to pile into it so if its gonna cost me more to do...
