What's your favourite colour for a Defender

    Metallic Epsom Green, funnily enough...

    Plus gas, GT85, WD40 - which one?

KROIL simply ****es all over anything else I've ever tried, trouble is, it's a bitch to get hold off. I have dobermans guarding my tin.

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

I used the info here to compose a letter plus photographs (sorry to link to another landy forum): I emptied the land rover, folded all the seats down, to make it clear it was a people carrier and not a van. Then took photos, attached those to a nice, concise, polite letter requesting the body...

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

Is it a CSW from new, does it state County Station Wagon on the V5C, have you left the seats (all of them) in?

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

I believe so, your reg gets clocked going into the zone and out, so if you're thinking of a long stay in the T5 car park, don't. £100 per day isn't very reasonable.

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

If it's a genuine CSW it's no problem. If its a conversion its much more difficult. If a panel sided van, forget it.

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

And I just got my 90 CSW reclassified as an estate, so I'll be fine after Jan 2012 now. Wasn't that hard at all really. I don't live in London but just outside, but I do venture into greater London now and again. The LEZ seemed weird to me, a 300 TDi Disco is fine but a 300 TDi 90 isn't? Huh...

    Jacking and axle stands

So four ramps or two ramps or just axle stands but not a combo? If using four ramps should they all face the same way? I had someone tell me to drive the front up on ramps, then jack and slide ramps under the rear wheels facing the other direction, seemed weird to me but I've not used ramps...

    Jacking and axle stands

Has anyone used ramps rather than jacks? My thinking (as I wish to do the same when it gets warmer) is to drive the front onto a ramp, then jack and stand the rear. Once done, swap over.

    New landy 90 300tdi

No doubt it will, I can't stress what a good idea it is to do a full service (all oils, filters) and replace the timing belt with a genuine one. It's like starting with a blank sheet again then and you'll have a fixed point from which you'll know when to renew oils from again. Just a thought...

    New landy 90 300tdi

You need to keep the faith a little with a recently bought secondhand landy. I known mine had a good service history up till the last two owners but they did very little to it in the four or so years they owned it. So far I have done the following (most of it quite necessary): Full service and...

    caps under the windscreen

I got mine for £14, secondhand an hour or two with the dremel and some wet and dry and they're ready to prime and fit!

    caps under the windscreen

The corrosion comes off quite easily, my 'tight as assholes' secondhand ones are now stripped and ready for a respray. They look no different from new ones.

    disassembly guide

This may help, it's for a modern 90 but I'd be surprised if the wings didn't come off the same as a series once you get the wheel arch trim off: YouTube - PhilSheredan's Channel

    rear crossmember

MIB 3mm is going on mine too when I get round to it in a month or two, should be the last major repair on the current list. Then I just need to try and get my CSW registered as an 'estate'... not to derail the thread but what's their fitting service like?
