Advice on removing a stubborn M6 screw from a hub

That’s always a possibility - but as a new Bosch OEM sensor is only £15, then so long as I can get the old one out, everything ought to be golden :D

Advice on removing a stubborn M6 screw from a hub

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather! A bit hot in London to be working on cars: even beating a stubborn screw with a hammer brought be out in a sweat over the weekend! This particular screw happens to be on an MGF rather than a Freelander, but I thought I'd see if the wisdom of this forum...

Unless the tester owned an FL1, chances are they wouldn’t even know it existed!

Lithium sulphur likely next (and perhaps sodium sulphur) but these will be some years before seeing commercial application… I really don’t think that batteries have fully matured yet.

The F will take the weight, but sad to loose the passenger seat. Here’s to looking forward to improved, smaller, lighter more energy-dense batteries!!

So much tragedy in Ukraine at the moment, it is so difficult to make much in the way of comment - but I spotted this in the middle of a CNN broadcast - a three door FL1 partially crushed. Hopefully the owners are okay…

All problems that are resolvable - even if retaining the Hydragas system (eg fitting Rover 100 front spheres). MIRA fitted front mounted E-motor and drive train + batteries and ended up with a 50:50 weight distribution (standard is 40:60) - therefore, if you’re smart about it and don’t get too...

Probably right - although it would run in pure EV mode in the ULEZ. But that subtilty is very likely to be completely lost on binary bureaucrats... :(

Yes, I read that post with great interest. But part of that problem is that his car is post 2001 - like your Hippo. Pre-2001 vehicles seem to have a much easier ride from the perspective of electrification, as the pathway seems far better trodden. An EV/ICE hybrid though? Mmmm. That'll probably...

I am sure you're right: supply and demand - and with energy prices the way they are, there's bound to be increased demand for PV and battery storage! Wish I had done this a few years ago, but I think an installation will still make sense now. Battery boxes look great, and the inverter fits like...

100% agree with that last statement! good luck with the rebuild. I too had to peel off someone’s silicone attempt to seal the cam ladder on my FL1. Madness.

    3 Amigos fixed

I’ve certainly had to replace one of the rings on my 2001 FL1 - it was throwing up intermittent but increasingly frequent errors. It didn’t fall off though, but that would certainly be something worth checking!
