its registered as a series 3 TDI yes. i do have coiler diffs, along with 235/85 tyres and an overdrive. road speed is 146.3% of indicated speed haha

pulled the box out yesterday, rebuilt the box today, then decided that i want to replace a bearing that is nearly fine but i might aswell do it. so i have to wait till monday afternoon before i can replace the bearing and refit it ready for tuesday. got a toybota yaris to bugger about with too...

£1600 for a series in that condition is nothing at all. i commend you. it just shows that you dont need to replace everything. instead of paying a hundred or 2 for a good series gearbox, i have just rebuilt mine at a cost of £13

i bought my HMG paint a tenner per litre. i used bang on 3 litre tins doing my external respray (same colour so no point doing interior) good thick coats with a great finish, only a couple of runs, but thats because i was trying to get as peel free as i could.

well it dont take 5 minutes to swap them round. just remember to put a connector block on the wiring to the stuff in the roof.

replaced the wheelbearing that left me stranded at the side of the a518 yesterday. i had to replace the stub axle too. then topped up the paint on my hubs, and started prep for painting the front end of it ready for the indoor 4x4 show.

mine was 1200 first year i had a TDI. went up to £2000 come renewal for no reason. ive since claimed for £1000ish worth of damage which isnt a lot but im not looking forward to renewal this year.

you can fit rings and shells in situ. just make sure the bay and front axle etc is clean first.
