I'm now back and all I can say is... WOW! Anybody thinking of doing it - just do it! We clocked up over 2k miles, and I can honestly say every mile was breath taking. The Land Rover preformed perfectly, and felt right at home in the Mountains.

Buy a 110 utility. Or do what I did, wait till a good rear end comes up. I got this rear end including rack for £500. I've known the hatches be £300+ each!!

Thanks. I done a quick search, but must have missed it. It wasn't for fuel economy (it's a Defender) lol. It was more for long distance driving, but didn't realize the ratio was the same as the R380!!! So in a nut-shell.... They'll be not benefit at all?

Quick question... Can a Puma 6-speed box be put onto a 300tdi? Has anybody done this and can it be done without moving any chassis mounts? I think it would be nice to have the 6th gear on the motorway.

I've just bought AC belt tension pulleys from paddocks, let me know if you need the part num. Cheap as chips too. Ps I got the ones for a 300tdi.

Hi mines actually a 1995 300tdi re-built with a 2008 southern electric rear end. I started it in April and it's just about complete :)

Ex southern electric? lol I work there & know they're very well looked after.

It's not just for show lol, I use it as intended :)

Purple/Brown; Permanent white/orange; switched can't see red/orange!! Black obviously earth
