I've had my 2003 TD5 110 SW for 2 years and other than a replacement power steering box it's run faultlessly. Buy the best you can and keep on top of maintenance either yourself or using a good independent garage. I think describing them as an everyday classic car sums them up perfectly.

And I'm still looking for someone that has fitted a Front Runner bonnet spare wheel carrier to their TD5. Anyone? Sorry for the slight thread hijack.

What's a puncture?! Used to get them now and again, even with a Discovery, but since Defender ownership I'm on 3 years and counting.. Always carry a spare though, just in case.;)

I converted my pickup to a soft top last summer. Two rear mounted middle facing seats with lap belts. All legal as far as I'm aware and a vast improvement on the pickup configuration for taking the family around too! :D
