    Advice please

The FL2 is extremely reliable to be honest. Unlike most the models JLR produce, the FL2 keeps pretty much the same every year except for cosmetic differences. It means they keep getting more reliable. Common problems on the earlier FL2's are ; PAS whine and Rear diff whine.

    HELP Fuse Module

I'm really struggling to understand im sorry. You replaced the fusebox, im guessing the internal fusebox? You replaced the blackbox, i think your refering to the CCU which is located on the back of it right? Is that correct?

TD4 clutch master or slave cylinder fail?

You know if you bleed the system up firstly. Then split the master from the slave on the quick release connector. Sit in the drivers seat and push down firmly on the clutch pedal. If it slowly sinks down, your master has failed. If it remains firmly in position, your slave has...

    Air Con Issue..... Recharge?

If you take it to a garage. They arent legally allowed to regas your aircon without leak testing it first. They should nitrogen test it first, then if that passes (positive pressure test), it will be Vac Tested by the aircon machine (negative pressure test) as it pulls a vac to boil off any...

    Slave Cylinder replaced clutch softer

I've had it a couple of times where you bleed it and get a good pedal. Then you come to it next day and its crap again. Its just the remaining air settling. I agree with Stewart.

TD4 Gone but will never be forgotten

Was just talking to someone who bought a 06 Fl1 Td4 from new , owned it 6 years and has never had a single warning light on, breakdown or fault. I'm doubtful he will have the same luck with the FL2 he just bought though ! But goodluck to him :)

Td4 oil in coolant only when towing

I would keep emptying the coolant out of the reservoir a few more times before investigating it as a fault. The coolant systems are very very difficult to completely flush once oil contaminated.

Freelander 1 Thermostat problems - need help please

Not wrong as such. Modified thermostat. The one you show in the bottom picture, is the one that sits into the coolant pump and onto the metal pipe at the back of your engine. there is a blanking mod for this to bypass it. The bypass for that thermostat is designed to be used if you fit the...

    Freelander 2 Power steering whine.

Tottot the contamination that you are refering to does originate from inside the steering rack. It is this contaminate that is causing the blockage in the reservoir gauze and from that the excessive strain on the pump causing the whine.

    Key Service Items

Get the brake fluid changed as well ! :) Hygroscopic just mean it absorbs water and obviously hydraulic fluid with water saturation isnt a good thing. The turbo modulator filter is behind the airbox just dangling and they are a couple of quid for a new one. Definately worth changing. Google...

    Viberation fl2v

EBT is correct. If its a characteristic of the vehicle. Then you should be able to get into any of their courtesy car FL2's and be able to reproduce the issue. Saying that. There is an 'ongoing concern' with resonation throughout the car caused by the new autogearbox shift strategy...

    Key Service Items

Crankcase breather / PCV / Cyclone Filter / Oil Seperator are all the same thing. Scrap the pollution control valve, as i think you made that up and change it to Pollen filter. Also add in Turbo Modulator Filter :)

    Don't laugh to hard

As above. I think what you want to do is remove the inlet manifold (not the intake ducting) and clean all the **** out of it. This will stop this buildup from entering your engine, although i dont honestly see the point of it. Then again im lazy.

    Key Service Items

It is. I havent got one to hand, but i think its refered to as Cylone filter or Crankcase Breather. It is definately on the sheet though :) I dont think it was added to the service sheets until about 2003/4 ish, when the turbo's started blowing up.

    Vibration in 6th Gear

FL2 is just as sensative because of how the Haldex works. There is also a current symptom that is coming through on FL2 auto. Its kind of rare, but if a customer has had a software update to the TCM in the last 6months or so, then it has had some modified shift strategy loaded onto it. It...
