2011 Freelander SD4 - DPF Fault (Engine Light)

Removal of the dpf is a very very bad idea tbh. Its an easily spotted non-genuine modification to the vehicle. Sounds like a future MOT nightmare. The dpf system works fine as long as you do motorway mileage. The fault the op is having is a fault with design, not a fault with the concept...

2011 Freelander SD4 - DPF Fault (Engine Light)

Dpf regen isnt rev reliant. Should occur, when engine is upto temp. Then the car will start to raise the dpf temperature and as long as you maintain a steady speed, it will complete its regen. Its not a quick thing, you will need 10-15 minutes of motorway driving when hot to go full to empty...

    Starting problems, ignition switch?

I'd say sounds like the ignition switch. Not really servicable, but easy to change. Easiest way to test one is, when it faults, give it a bang with your hand, if it then starts working, its fecked! Technical ftw.

    Rear door latch replacement

Changing the latch is a really easy job, if you take the exterior door handle out with it. Otherwise your going to be doing keyhole surgery. Remove the seperate part of the handle, the bit at the back. Then slide the door handle backwards and it will come out. Then just a couple of screws...

Fuel trim on those is only controlled by coolant temp and precat lambda isnt it? Apart from that, make sure you have a decent spark and timing is correct

Great car, shame about the satnav?

There is a manual, about 10x as thick as the users handbook called 'Infotainment Manual' and it explains how everything is supposed to work in a best case scenario :)

    loose fuel pipes

You need to properly locate the pump before the ring will sit into the threads and lock down. Push the pump down first into its location, then screw the ring down around it. Screwdriver and hammer will work find to tap the ring to lock it on :)

2009+ Freelander 2 radio replacement questions

Lowline Audio doesnt have any MOST so that shouldnt be an issue. If there is no touch screen display, you shouldnt have to worry about fiberoptic comms bus. Taking the current radio out is a 2minute job really. The top speaker trim in the middle of the dash, pulls up from the back. The rubber...
