    Tyre advice needed.

Not sure about this statement, but I'm running on new Wranglers so I'll let you know in time.............. only read one piece on this, and by all accounts the tyres were 'ancient', which could mean a multitude of things. There seems to be quite a bit of snobbery on here when it comes to tyre...

    freelander 1 door speaker size??

Someone on here has a pic of the mounting depths: from the door inner skin you'll get away with around 50mm, mounting the speaker on top of the door card gives you about 75mm.

    Don't laugh to hard

I used Gunk and a flue brush, it was extremely messy, but effective. Others have used oven cleaner good results too.

    Key Service Items

Hi EBT firstly, I would get yourself to Halfords, and buy a Haynes if you haven't already. This will help you immensely :)

    Don't laugh to hard

Hi Dan There is a plethora of info on here with regard to cleaning / replacing engine parts in order to improve performance........ as Singvogel said, when a TD4 is tip top it goes like stink, mine is an 01 and since replacing and cleaning (be prepared to get a little oily) certain engine...

    Replace reversing sensor

    Bugger, mine too!! lol

    Replace reversing sensor

Hi Varley I think you may have answered that question. You will probably need to remove the bumper to replace the sensor.

    Chip Express

Hi SV That's a sound idea, those pins will be ideal. Good work fella ;)

    Chip Express

No I couldn't get the driver on mine either, they must assemble the hoses off the car then put the whole unit in, I couldn't see any other way. Once the hose was off though, when I refitted the new silicone pipe I positioned the clip so that I could use the flexidriver, with the nut of the clip...

6mm spanner......... slow, fiddly, but you'll get there eventually! If you purchase, or have, a flexi clip screwdriver It makes life a bit easier when repositioning the front clip.

    Goodyears??

    New Tyres

Don't forget Goodyear either......... although not mentioned on here a lot, I have them fitted to my '01 FL, and have no complaints at all. I think wear is the only issue, but as I don't do a great deal of mileage, I'm not too worried. And also I don't do offroad either, so they are ideal, as...

Start there then, the linkage probably needs resetting.

    Egr Blanking Mod

Must say it seems to have made a difference fitting the bypass and Oil Separator, but because I'm running it in mondo mode, I'll have to wait until August / September, when the new VCU is fitted, to give it a full appraisal. Update: Hoses fitted today, just before the British Grand Prix. Upon...

You can replace the linkage, I'd look at that first :)

    Egr Blanking Mod

Hi T4LOY, no, it should be left to the atmosphere. I've just cleaned my inlet manifold (Holy crap it was caked with oil!), changed the recently replaced crankcase breather filter for a bmw oil separator..... you'd be surprised at how much oil is captured by the 'loo roll' type filter in...

    gears

Hi Kab It could be gear selector rod wear, or clutch wear even though it feels ok going up the gears. Check the rods, from under the car, for slackness in the rod joints.

    IRD blank?

Hi Allan I'm currently running mine in 2wd too, there is no need to fit a plate, unless you are going to leave it in 2wd permanently. You'll probably just need to clean up the mating faces of the drives before reassembly. Also, look at tyre replacement when you fit the new / recon VCU, to...
