    Td4 Clutch advice?

Hi Normally that is to do with the slave cylinder, but you mentioned that this was changed? Is there fluid under the car, from the bell housing? Other than that, change the Master cylinder, this can cause the pedal to the floor you mentioned..........

    Freelander in the winter..

Hi Yes they will. I had a Rav4 with old tyres that went up a 1:4 snow covered road no problem, and other 4x4's did too, Land Rovers et al. As long as you have decent tread, it should be fine.

What have you done to your Freelander today

That's probably just for the clutch plate and cover, and not for the slave cylinder, DMF and clutch plate / cover which is recommended for replacement on a TD4. The price for this little lot varies from between 500 - 700 quid, parts only. Then anything from £300-500 for labour (not mates rates)...

    Td4 Clutch advice?

Hi Had mine done the other week, and the lightness of the clutch pedal concerned me for a bit, but that's what I think it should feel like! :)

Prop shaft removal and improved MPG

I bought mine as a replacement for the Rav4 I had, as I saw the benefits of 4x4 in the snow and its cornering abilities too. Since having my FL, the prop had to be removed as a precaution, and since having the IRD and 'box off twice, the amount of debris in the IRD oil convinced me to leave the...

    Bite The Clutch Bullet..........

Well, been running the car with the new clutch / DMF / slave cylinder for about two weeks now....... and have noticed a nice puddle of oil on the floor under the engine, coming from where the gearbox meets the engine. Called the mechanic, it's going back in on wednesday. Hopefully nothing too...

    Leaky Boot - Potential Contributor?

Hi Yakko You are going about it the right way; what I would like to do is remove the rear door card, and spray a load of water all over the seal edges to see where the ingress is coming from. It's a silly, annoying, and potentially damaging issue, whereby the answer isn't just to 'drill a...

    Anyone used Mr clutch

Hi At that price it'll be just the plate and cover. All advice says change everything, not just the clutch. I had all parts changed (clutch, DMF, slave cylinder) and have peace of mind :)

    Td4 Clutch advice?

No, I used LUK for the DMF, and OEM parts for everything else.

    Td4 Clutch advice?

Hi ZL In my opinion it is, and the slave cylinder too, along with the release bearing. These items are all inside the gearbox housing, and changing them will save you a potential repeat charge. I've just had mine all replaced, and the clutch feels like new, as it should! The parts total was...

    Bite The Clutch Bullet..........

I see your point Kizzeh, and I'm still pondering whether to leave it in 2wd, as the outlay is a lot. But we'll see...............

    Bite The Clutch Bullet..........

Well, I finally got the clutch assembly/DMF/slave cylinder fitted, dropped it off yesterday morning, picked it up after work tonight. A big difference, the clutch pedal is lighter, the bite is stronger, and it pulls like a freight train!! Downside is, upon removal and draining of the transfer...

    Td4 Clutch advice?

Hi It sounds as if it's the beginning of the end for the clutch plate and cover. I dropped my TD4 off to the garage today for a clutch/DMF/slave cylinder/release bearing change, I'm having it all changed as the 'box is off, so makes some sense. I bought all the parts myself, and a recommended...

    Blingy exhaust

Hi Will I had a look at these exhausts when I had my Rav4, and was close to buying. But seeing it on a FL........ it's quite smart. And, in my opinion, if someone wishes to trick out their car, then more power to them. Painting it purple and lighting it up like a Christmas tree isn't my...

Davies Craig EWP - FINALLY SORTED!!!

Good work Will, and DD too. It's so gratifying to tackle and solve a problem, especially as you were at your wits end on occasion......... but you saw it through. I tip my cap to you two! :clap2:

    Rear End Door Seal

Well, I've done the rear door shedder plastic behind the door trim, and replaced the complete surround seal, but it still leaks as much. It seems to come in on the door hinge side, and tracks under the boot carpet to the security box. I haven't spent enough time on it to have a proper look, what...

    Clutch removal

Hi Digby Fair play to you for having a go, I bottled it and am getting a garage to do it. And whoever said that the link you first put on here isn't a TD4 is right, it must be an L series. Also, the clutch pics show a standard flywheel, whereas the TD4 utilises a DMF. Good luck...

Ever wondered whats it's like to drive a tratter?

Driven a 110 at work, it was bought as an emergency 'snow rescue' vehicle a couple of years ago, just in case anyone where I work got stuck / needed a lift, etc. and I can honestly say it does exactly what it should have. But, my God, what an awful ride / crap turning circle / noise!! lol...

    td4 main worry

Well, the clutch is gonna be done next week, probs just under a grand all in, my props are in the shed waiting to be refitted when I buy a new VCU and bearings, I've had the odd electrical component fail, i.e. the drivers door solenoid, brake and reverse light switches, but these have been...
