No, tjere's nothing, not even a machined surface

    Help needed! Autobox broken. again.

It's a bit strange, on closer inspection it has drilled and tapped holes for the cooler plate to fit on, but no machined surface for the ports to match up to. The transfer box is missing a switch on the passenger side that my old one had. Could it be a temperature switch?

This one looks a bit better..... This gearbox doesn't have an oil cooler. Does anyone know what's required to make one fit? Can I just drill through the blanks and drill and tap for the bolt holes?

    Help needed! Autobox broken. again.

Now I realise this question has been asked many times before, but as far as I can tell, it's been in relation to the r380. Which oil would you use in an LT77, ATF or mtf 94?

It certainly looked like lack of lubrication, it was rather dry!

    Help needed! Autobox broken. again.

Nope, Didn't know spline wear was a problem... I do now :frusty: Still, it is a relief knowing that the shunt wasn't just a case of "they all do that sir" and there really was a problem. She should be a lot nicer to drive when this is sorted out. I drove my friend's D2 that has covered...

On further inspection, the input shaft can be moved up and down by about 3mm. This gearbox really was knackered :(

Now... that horrible shunt.... Well that'll be it then. All that bloody work to get the manual box in and it's knackered. How on earth it was even driving, I do not know.

    Hidden winch?

I figured that might be the case - it's not how I'd do it but it's not my car... Mine's high up and well recessed into the grille for maximum approach angle..
