    Key fob problem

Have you used the EKA code before and are you following the correct procedure for your year of manufacture as per the handbook. You cannot enter the keycode while keycode lockout is displayed. Wait approx 30 mins till the message clears then try. Agree Mozz is your man for this.

Have changed key fob batteries, now engine is disabled

Just a thought, have you got the RF receiver arial wire disconnected and if so try remote synch with it connected. Mine is a year 2000 model but the following worked for me. Put key in drivers door lock. Press and hold lock button Turn key to lock position (Towards rear of car on right hand...

    P38 Power Drain

Hi, First I would suggest starting a new thread instead of resurecting one from 2010. Second do a forum search for battery drain and loss of sync. I think loss of sync after such a long time with a flat battery is quite possible.

    P38 1996 RHD - Key Fob won't resync, passenger door won't open.

Do you have another remote to try that has not had the batteries changed so does not need a resynch. I believe all doors and bonnet have to be unlocked but closed to enter the EKA code.

    Key in ignition

Hi, I had this problem, there is a switch in the ignition barrel that is sticking. Do not spray it with WD40 as this will eventually get sticky. Use a graphite lock lubricant. I got some for a couple of quid on Ebay, 1 quick spray and it's been fine since. Must learn to type faster than SaintV8.

I think the diesel models have an ECU there, it is empty on my 4.6 V8. I guess the LPG fitter used the space for the LPG ECU. +1 on the OBD socket and loss of sync.

New purchase checkover and first service

If you havn't already download "Rave" the Landrover workshop manuals, it includes a service schedule. Don't forget to check / change the pollen filters, this will give a clue how well it has been maintained as they are often neglected during a service. I have never been asked to produce an LPG...
