My day at whaddon wasn't very productive. The turbo packed up, I broke the chassiss member under the gear box and the rear diff chewed itself up. The turbo is fixed, my mate is going to do some welding for me next week and I need to source a new diff. Then I can play again. Other than that it...

I've never welded, but I have a couple of mates who are average at it. Would I need a new diff unit or just the internals? And I guess the pan just welds to the back of the diff? Thanks

I still stand by that kinetic ropes are a great bit of kit if used with the proper precautions. If they do go wrong though they are a disaster waiting to happen because they store so much energy. I have normal tow ropes and towe strops and will be adding a kinetic rope to my off road kit. If...

Kinetic recovery ropes are worth there weight in gold. If you have a spare 40 quid get one. They are great for recovering stuck landys :)

In that case I might try my luck with a steering guard because I don't have the money to be throwing at loads of uprated parts at the moment. Thanks.
