Still seems a lot, it's 3aH/day which is significant as the only things running should be the alarm and the remote receiver.
Still, a RR battery must be at least 70aH so you've probably got a couple of weeks before there's not enough left to turn the engine over, I've certainly left mine for...
I've got a 1988 Classic with a Disco Tdi200 engine. Had it for 18 years now and it's just failed it's MOT on rust on every body mount, so it's parked up in a field and has been replaced by a 1999 DSE.
Still love my Classic tho'.......
You may have tried two batteries both known to be good, but the fact that the distance driven before parking makes a difference seems significant....
Is it possible that the battery isn't getting charged properly when the engine is running, i.e. it's almost flat when you park up ?
I think...
If the original grease has gone, then either the boot has split and will need replacing, or one of the clamps/clips on the end has come loose. If it's the clip, then that's how you get the grease in (before replacing the clip).
The grease won't just disappear without there being some kind of...
One of the differences between engaging drive when stationary and running on the over-run (i.e. engine braking), is that when engaging drive while stationary, the drag of the auto-box/torque-convertor etc. is trying to slow the engine down, when on the over-run it's trying to speed the engine up...
I bought my 1999 DSE 2 months ago and feel exactly the same, I love it to death and wouldn't be without it ..... but it hasn't played too many "tricks" on me yet
Yes .....
It's the only reason I kept the standard head in my RR.
Does anyone do a conversion box that sits in the line and makes the buttons work with other heads, maybe heads with MP3/usb connectivity ?
Don't get me wrong, I love mine to death and wouldn't be without it, it's just that you need to be prepared for some fun times ahead as they do have some interesting "quirks" ......
Mine is a '99 DSE auto and I get apout 27mpg on average. I drive quite gently tho' as I hate paying for diesel...
4.5 years with no problems at all from the Freelander ...... I love my 1999 P38 DSE but feel like having a party if it goes for 4.5 weeks without something "odd" happening.
Price isn't completely outrageous for one of the last P38's made with a FSH and 104k, a bit higher than you might...
I changed the doors on my 1988 Classic a few years back.
The doors changed design in I believe 1989, the front doors have different hinges, the pre-89 ones have cut outs in the leading edge of the doors for the hinges to stick through, the 1989 onwards ones have concealed hinges and will...
