It's got to weigh less than an XT550 + caravan nose weight, so you should be OK. Regarding a swan-neck tow ball, the OEM fit ones were like that, but most RR seem to have aftermarket tow bars the majority of which are the standard bolt-on type so no worries there.

Stick the bike on a rack bolted to the towbar. I used to carry an Yamaha XT550 while I towed a caravan, went all over Europe with no problems at all. Saves messing up the inside of the RR as well as keeping the stink of petrol out as well.

Pretty certain this was not supported on the P38, certainly not on the pre-1999 ones. The later one's with the Bosch Motronic ECU _may_ support full generic CAN OBD-II but I really doubt it !
