Was it the injector pump solinoid on the lift pump or the main injection system?

Prelude Ok this has been a problem that started a few months ago. First it would start up for a second, then cut out. For the next few minutes it would turn over but not fire up. Then it would sluggishly start properly and all would be well. Now after letting it stand for a few months the same...

At the moment (but changing next year I believe) you don't pay any tax on an all-electric vehicle dear boy.

Well, with the changes in taxation classes for electric vehicles coming the benefits of electric vehicles are diminishing.

Thanks for all your replies folks. I've just checked the battery again and... It's back to 12.36 volts, so with what you have said and my own feeling of it sounded a bit less vigorous on turn-over, I'll be getting a new battery. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Maybe my multimeter is phucked? But that was one day after the charging!

Ok, tried the battery charging which hasn't had an effect unfortunately. Tomorrow is the turn of the solenoid. If anyone has pictures, it would be much appreciated.

From a pure engine side of things it's not left me stranded. There was one incident where I fiddled with a leaking fuel outlet fitting (from the fuel tank) and it snapped off, making it technically 'broken-down' until the recovery came.
