I changed rocker cover gasket, that made it slightly better but when I changed the inlet/exhaust manifold gasket it cured it.

I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb yet but inside the engine bay looks solid, a bit of flaking on the underside of the footwell but doesn't look too bad from what I've seen. Only other place I've noticed rust is behind the dash where you put the bolts through for the windscreen block...

So the drivers side top hinge has started to get pushed out by the rust on the bulkhead behind it, it looks quite localised to just that area but I'm not going to kid myself that it's just that bit I can see. It it a massive job to repair the top corner of the bulkhead? I'm thinking dash out...

Get the anti spatter spray too makes everything look a lot neater.

I went to machine mart and got the 135te. Brought the 145 which can do both gas and gasless first but the gas was leaking inside the unit so I took it back, tried my reg and bottle on a new one and it still leaked so paid the extra and got the 135 which is well worth the extra money.

I got a quote off the local garage to do the mot and fix two holes behind my rear shock mounts only to find another before I took it in. I took the plunge, brought a mig welder put back the date of my mot a few weeks and started teaching myself to weld using YouTube and advice off a mates dad...

Thanks for the info, done quite a few bits to it over the last year so hopefully it will sail through but don't want it to fail on something stupid.

Luckily it wasn't engine oil and wasn't black, I got a blowtorch on it in the end and burnt the oil away, has left a slight stain but il try with some drive cleaners and a jetwash to see if it makes it any better.

Might have a go with this idea in future, do you mix them together before or coke on first then powder after??

This was the first thing I done after putting sand on it, made it slightly better but no real difference could still see the big stain.

I put a load of sand on it just after it happened, it got a little bit up but not a great deal.
