The right hand sidelight fuse :)

Having a b*tch of a time here. Defdender 110 200 Tdi. The right hand sidelights keep blowing fuses. I suspect it’s a short somewhere - if you change the fuse it’ll generally be alright for a while then go when you drive somewhere and it gets bumped a bit. Looked at all the connections in the...

Howdy, Defender 110, 200 Tdi. Temperature gauge died the other day... thought it would just be the connection falling off - nope. It doesn't budge from the off position when the ignition turns on. The weird thing is, I've checked all the usual stuff and it seems like it should be working...

Already done, made no difference. Update as of this morning, everything is connected up but after the hazards working fine for ages last night the f*cking 15A fuse is blowing again. Looking like I'm going to have to take the dashboard off and start rooting around for shorts in there... gotta...

Thanks dude :) Will give it a shot tomorrow and see what I can see. Edit - already given these crappy spade connectors a wee squeeze to no avail!

Also, dunno if this makes any difference but when the hazards are on, the green trailer tell tale flashes but the actual indicator tell tale on the dash doesn't!

Well, limited success from the last few hours of ****ing about! The short was on the temp gauge. Somehow the input terminal had managed to wiggle its way round to touch the metal frame. Anyway, that sorted the fuse blowing problem and the hazards now work... however the indicators and fuel...

Evening y'all, I've got Defender 200 Tdi leccy woes - the 15A fuse for the hazard warning lights/gauges (2nd from the left on the top row) keeps on blowing. I've replaced it three times, once just off the bat (it blew instantly) then once again after cleaning up all the indicator bulb...

Yip, dissolves any caked on oily mess much better and doesn't leave any moisture behind.

I think they look bloody awful, completely ruin the lines.

Aye, my 200 Tdi's the same, the only real problem is the solenoid seems a bit sticky sometimes... since it's a bit of a pain in the ass job I'd rather just rip the whole thing out and put a new one in instead of fannying about trying to clean it.

Hi mate, thinking about buying this one myself as the current starter motor on my 200 Tdi is occasionally playing up - I take it it's the non-branded one you got? Still going strong?

Another proponent of the WD40 method here - replaced UJ for MOT, passed MOT but notchy as buck afterwards. Skooshed it with WD40, good to go!

Aye dude, way down past Uig at Mealasta! Might buy a winch because of it, every cloud and all that :D

Thanks for the thought, we had tried pulling her oot with a 1.2 Polo the day before though and all that occurred was copious amounts of clutch smoke :lol:
