    Lidl air tools and compressor

Whaddya rekon? Thursday, 18.09. - Lidl UK Waste of money or worth a punt? Air tools would come in handy but I'm thinking about hooking a spray gun up to it for smaller jobs like wheels and individual panels etc - wouldn't try to spray a whole Landy in one go with it... I have no knowledge or...

    What tyres?

Do you counter steer your Landy then? :p

    Outrigger

Access will be easier with the tub off, but you could just lift the front up a bit.

Buying dilema - What would you do?

If budget is no issue buy em all :D Stick the 6 pot in the garage as a long term project and use the fender/disco as your daily...

    1973 88" rebuild - my turn!

That's just the undercoat (red oxide), I was going to paint it black but ran out of time... It's in pretty good nick but there are a few places still to weld :) Covered in scratches and manky oil now though :(

Basket case Landy from Surrey to Durham?

Howdy All, I've quite sensibly decided to move from one end of the country to the other, part way through a rebuild... The Landy is in one piece and rolls (or will be before I move ), but the engine and brakes are not connected. Does anybody have a trailer/transporter to move the Landy...

    1973 88" rebuild - my turn!

What's the most helpful thing during a Land Rover rebuild? A house move? No? Thought not... Anyway, it seems I'm daft enough to attempt this, so here we go! My plan is to put the Landy back together and get it trailered to the new place. I had a crazy plan to put it back together, MOT...

    Hensey’s M57 powered series

Sorry to hear your having a tough time of things bud! Chin up though, the sun will shine tomorrow :) As for the OP, I'm interested to see how this turns out - if they were all bronze green and factory fresh they would be boring. I'll be keeping my own series looking like one, but the best thing...

    Hensey’s M57 powered series

Did you step on a lego or something? Calm yer tits! Yeah ok so this is a series forum for series lovers, and his mods may not be to everyone's taste - but it doesn't deserve such a tirade of abuse. As mentioned, it's HIS property to do as he wishes - if he tried to stick a fender grill on your...

2a field tender tacr-1 replica build

Why not start with an original: Ex Royal Navy Land Rover 109 1 Ton (TACR-1) For Sale (1975) on Car And Classic UK [C524657] This isn't mine or anything to do with me, it just came up when I googled "2a field tender tacr-1"

    The project has landed!

Looking good, I think you may have 2 adusters on the fronts though. They look like TLS (twin leading shoe) so you'll have an adjuster for each shoe. Can't believe how little you've spent vs how good it looks - I'm well jealous :)

    tub

Stick it on ebay and get the proper one. Whilst it could be made to fit, it will probably look a mess, it would be easier to repair a rotten 88" tub and make that fit...

When should you buy off-roading kit?

You'll need a snorkel, roll cage, winch, wading kit, sand ladders, mud tyres, suspension lift, underbody protection, side protection... Really though to start with you only need good recovery points front and back, and a friend. Between you both you should have a spade/shovel, rope and shackles...

    Project series 2a 109 from disco 200TDi

What happened to the 200tdi disco? Instead of a IIa you should use a later III, they look similar but there's no sense in wasting a tax exempt series :)

New: Fitting S2a rear axle on S3?

Hello and welcome :) Do you have an 88" or a 109"? The 88" and 109" axles differ from each other, and there are 2 types of 109" rear axle (Salisbury and Rover). You can't swap between 88" and 109" without modification as the leaf springs are in different places. You can fit a Series II, IIa or...

How many land rovers are actually on the road.

So the FREELANDER V6 SE S/B A is the rarest Land Rover, with only 1 on the road... eat that series 1 owners :p I wonder how many Series' are sat in sheds/barns/garages in various states of rebuild, destined to be returned to the road one day?

    Series 2a restoration - colour

I like that, it looks worked :) That being said, it's your Landy so if you hate it then it's your choice to change it. If your worried about resale value then keep everything as original as possible, if not then paint it whatever colour you feel like. I personally think this looks...

    Series 2a restoration - colour

I'd personally give it a good clean and see what you've got, I love the worn look (patina if you want to get technical :) ) provided there is no rust I'd keep it as is. That being said, I have no idea what mine has been painted with (whatever was cheapest at the time I expect) and it's peeling...

    Stupid shocks question

They should however move from fully compressed to fully extended by hand - the whole range of movement should be nice and smooth.
