    morning all,quick update,front end is back together with freshly matt blacked grill, just eed to sort headlight alignment. back door etc is all back together ,all electrics etc are wired in. exhaust is done, although im not to sure where is is , all thats left now it to prep and spray the roof...

    Yes,cut the rust out,then weld a plate in its place,the outer body is bermabrite ( an alloy mix) and everything else is steel.

    Leak wise it could be from the door seals, , any blocked drain holes can cause water to sit there, leaky windscreen could cause it, look around on here I'm sure there's a list of all common disco leaking points

    It is spot on mate. Ideally you want 18 gauge steel which 1.2 mm thick,perfect for plating, you can get it from a company in weston on the green, they're called oxford fabrication. They will sel you a 4x2 foot sheet quite cheaply,you can cut it with a decent set of tin snips.

    Oh dear. This is not good!! Yes of course mate! Get all the rust cleaned up around the holes and gets some plates cut up and ill come round and (try) and show you how to do it, once I've set your welder up that is!
