I have a similar system, is there any beeps when changes from flashing amber to red? Is the red flashing? Reason I ask is that is the 'fault mode' and indicate a varety of things. Mine did this and turned out to be a bad earth causing the unit to think the water temp was 145 degrees, plugged it...

Yep I agree, the diff they supplied was a 'good'second hand unit for £150 plus fitting. Obviously it was nakkered and I doubt its even a 4-pin after what they were trying to pull today!

That is what I think as still 'rumbly' straight after but defo no grinding at first, but they blaming it on vicous coupling being, 'siezed'
