    What to look out for?

4'7", my 7 year old is 4'6"! As for being by the A47 we be miles away from that, try Sheringham, much more relaxed place to live.

    What to look out for?

The opposite, 6'7" although my wife is 5'6" so an adjustable seat is helpful. No motorways in this part of the country just us Norfolk folk.

    What to look out for?

Do the basic models have a drivers seat with height adjustment?

    What to look out for?

It's a good place to live and a good railway, just can't find a good landy for a good price round here.

    What to look out for?

Now I've seen and heard of under pheasants before but not underpigeons

    What to look out for?

Thanks for your help guys, thought I'd get some good advice here and I certainly have. Any other typical bodges which I should look out for?

    What to look out for?

I haven't for a while but used to work at the North Norfolk Railway a few years ago.

    What to look out for?

Fair enough, that's that one off the list then. Annoyingly trying to find anything in Norfolk is a nightmare and usually over priced. So is a disco with coils instead or the air system bad news as well as I was thinking about looking at one this weekend. On a separate note is the head lining...

    What to look out for?

Going on what I've been told which I have taken with a very large dollop of salt is that the conversion was done by a Land Rover specialist. I now have mixed feelings about it as everything else seemed really quite good plus it had wife approval which is all important.

    What to look out for?

Ah ok, best to give that a miss then. So if removing the air gubbins from a P38 is a bad thing why do people remove them from Discoverys of the same age or even from the P38s in the first place. I do appreciate they are different beasts just assumed it would be a similar thing. I'm more at home...

    What to look out for?

1996, spring conversion not a good thing then? I'm not going to be using for lots off road stuff mainly a daily driver which is large enough for everyone and everything we need to move about.

    What to look out for?

Had a look today although not as in depth as I'd like, having a crazy 4 year old minion in tow made that a little difficult. Overall it looked ok, a minor bit of paint bubbling on a rear arch and a smaller bit on the bottom of the drivers but nothing else which I could see rot wise. The air...

    What to look out for?

All being well I'll be having a look at P38 2.5 DSE tomorrow. 128000 miles on the clock but I really don't know what to look out for on these beasties. Is rust an issue? Any telltales of impending doom? Any questions I should be asking?

    To buy or not?

Yep, superb if you ever want any back problems, unfortunately I think my eldest minion will be much the same.
  15. N

    To buy or not?

Leg room isn't such an issue, also I need to be able to fit my eldest behind me who at 7 1/2 is just over 4'6" already.

    To buy or not?

So I'm currently looking at getting a Landy of some kind as a daily driver and family car. Being annoyingly tall at 6'7" and having a stupidly long body I struggle to fit most things. Whilst my first thought is for a Discovery 1 or 2 a P38 is another option, possibly. Any idea if I would fit...

    What to get help

Finally the time has come to get rid of the old family car and to replace it with a Discovery. I know I can fit in a 2002 Td5 ES as it had fully adjustable seats, (I need the seat as low as possible to get in being 6'7" with a long body) but would like to get one of the Tdi jobbies as these...

    Advice time.

Leg room is an issue but having a long body headroom is more of a problem. If I can sit upright properly then I don't tend to slouch so much and don't need quite so much legroom. Anything else which you guys can think to look out for? I won't be able to get anything until next year unless...

    Advice time.

Thanks chaps, so a 200 or 300 Mk1 would be good options by the sounds of it. Anything else to keep an eye out for when looking or things / models to avoid?

    Hi, new to the forum.

A Discovery Mk1 is what I was thinking of, hopefully be able to try one out sometime. As for the Loonyzone I've been there a long time, done my apprenticeships working on a preserved railway on steam and diesel locos as well as carriage overhauls, you have to be mad to do that for a living!!
