Hi Big Matt, I did my starter motor from underneath, seemed like the easier option at the time. Bloody awkward though. Maybe somebody can comment on the battery box removal method.

Not sure on the disc shaped thing....but the starter motor is very awkward to get at, but only the one nut on the top side which is a complete pain.....Good luck
