    Got mine back today, all sorted. Turned out to be one on the main power feeds to the left of the fuses had come loose and was almost setting the sound deadening to catch fire!!! Came back from the garage with ALL my faults cured. :- Over heating indicated but cured by operating rear wiper...

    Mine ('97 DSE) does this with the fuses when I indicate right or flash main beam. I'm having a second hand BcEM fitted tomorrow. Will post how I get on.

    Breakdown warranty cover takes 14 days to come into force. I have it (as every P38 owner should!!).

    I get 16mpg when towing a 23ft caravan. 19mpg round town Darn't take it on the motorway solo, it'll only breakdown :-(

    P38 Diesel Overheating again - Free Lager

    Are you sure its actually overheating? When I go uphill or kick down, my temp guage shoots up. I simply give the rear wiper a flick and once the wipe is complete, the guage returns to normal !!! Am fitting a new BECM next week to see if this cures this (and all the other electrical faults)...

    Is this item a simple unplug old unit and plug in the new unit?? Is there any recoding to do? It could be one less electrical fault on my P38. I know where there is a P38 for breaking, i'm having the BECM off it next week !!!!

    Hello, My first post so go easy. I bought my (97) 2.5 DSE about a month ago and have had alsorts of problems so far, the most serious of all the overheating. If towing our 23' caravan or 'booting' uphill I overheat. If I operate the sunroof for just a second, the guage drops back to normal...
