Im not too sure Rob as ive not had chance to look at it yet. I need to see if theres a way I can visually confirm if its got the correct wheel bearing fitted and if it has ill just order a sensor off T'interweb and have a go at replacing it this weekend.

That's what im thinking! Can you tell by looking at it if its the correct bearing or not?

Also does this model use a magnetic pick up in the wheel bearing? The car had a wheel bearing changed before we bought it and im wondering if hes put in a bearing without the magnet?

Yeah thats the same here, smoke for only a few seconds though with the slightest bit of lumpy idle but it didnt start doing it until last Thursday when the temp started falling below zero so im hoping its a glow plug rather than an injector. Cheers for the reccomendations guys

Yeah, I like London as a place to visit for a few days but couldn't imagine living somewhere with so much traffic. Thankfully all I have to worry about when out for a drive is the odd suicidal deer / rabbit / fox / badger / pheasant etc.. running out in front of me

So glad I live in Rural Scotland, really couldn't be arsed with all that congestion charge nonsense....or heavy traffic for that matter :p

Does look good but Ive got to admit I wouldn't fancy driving with those on wet icy roads , not a great deal of surface contact with the big tread spacing and no sipes at all

Busy weekend on my wifes new 2005 TD4. Changed the engine oil (fully synthetic 5w40) and filter Changed the PCV breather filter (it was black and rock hard so god knows when it was last changed....if ever!) Removed the EGR and fitted a bypass Fitted Fuel Pressure Regulator Overlay Repair Loom...

before you go and buy any bits...have you tried pressing the unlock button twice? My newly acquired TD4 3 door only unlocks the drivers door with the first press of the fob then unlocks the passenger and rear door with the second press!
