I've recently fitted a CHRA to mine (the cheapest refurb option) and there was only the tiniest bit of play in the bearings. Having said that, every 200 and 300 TDI engine I have looked at has a fair amount of play in the turbo and seems to run just fine!

Mid to late 90s 300TDI for parts availability. I have a 200TDI but parts are getting harder to find (cheaply).

If you need a 90 roof to compare against, my 90 is currently stripped down pending a rebuild and I am just outside Wimborne.

As does their attitude to quality!

Oh yes, they also state that the skin is bonded to the frame, but mine had a few dabs of sealant and the skin could easily flex. As I said.....

I purchased a rear door rom SP recently. The skin was badly fitted and the upper frame sections did not align with the lower skin. It took three weeks to arrive and my questions relating to their quality claims were ignored. Got a refund in the end but twice I have purchased from them and twice...

Na (naturally aspirated) suggests it has no turbo. It can't be NA and a Turbo Diesel! Can you see a turbo?

I assumed in my response you have a 200tdi, but having re-read the posting, sounds like you have a 19j TD. You may need a different locking pin size for that.

It's not as difficult as it sounds. You can lock the pump with a twist drill (9.5 mm?). The big challenge may be getting the crank pulley bolt out.

Try an isolating primer. Apply it thinly, do not flat them apply topcoat. Used to be yellow in colour and has got me out of trouble loads of times, especially when painting over synthetics.

To fit, search this site, but basically grind off all protruding fittings on the existing bases and fit onto 30 mm box section, or buy the rails pre-made. Easy peasy!

Take a look on eBay etc. I had no trouble finding some. They are also available in cloth, but those are not normally heated or electric. If you buy leather, they are heated and the driver's side has electric adjustment. Very easy to wire in but make sure you remove the airbags if taking this...

I bought a cheap disco 1.2 box and fitted the Ashcroft refurb kit and one piece diff centre. It's quite easy to rebuild and (almost) fun!

I reckon 6 hours labour on a ramp, including clutch.
