    It's become a bit of a project!

They look great on yours and that's a nice looking disco. Unfortunately mine are battered to fook and don't hold air so had to go. No amount of powdercoat and brasso would resurrect these buggers! :p

    It's become a bit of a project!

She drove the 300 on L plates when I first bought it but wasn't all that fussed about passing her test at the time. Now she's determined to pass ASAP so I need to get the beast sorted. You're spot on though, having learned to throw this bugger around last year she found her new instructor's...

Exactly my problem, I just bought some steel modulars to replace the ugly alloys.

    It's become a bit of a project!

In the best of re-build traditions, here's the "Look what I found in a barn" image, apples an' all. Note the rather fetching green tinge to the headlamps... :5bblush5: I really should be reprimanded for allowing her to get in such a state but I'm sure I'll be forgiven when the MOT man...

    Wheel Arch Repair Section

Was hoping to avoid a patchwork quilt but looking like that's the way forward. Nobody can give me a stock ETA :( Utch hasn't changed, don't think it ever will. Still a 1 horse town, although the neighbours now have a donkey, which is fun!

    Wheel Arch Repair Section

Pulling my hair out now! MPS and Paddock are both having issues with stock due to supplier change-over, there's nothing on fleabay and now I'm struggling to find this part (apparently YRM don't have the tools to make it either). Any suggestions where I might be able to find one (5...

    It's become a bit of a project!

I've decided to do my own repairs. I've never used a MIG and my dad's old ARC best has finally died so I'm looking for something to get me started. Any recommendations for something cheap and cheerful (it'll only get used once in a while)? I don't have access to a wind-free area if that helps...

    It's become a bit of a project!

Was just making an insomniac brew and thinking exactly that same thought. Can't see me being that lucky but as you say, worth patching it first so I don't have to worry about it later.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Bought some modulars :) (but didn't fit them) :(

    It's become a bit of a project!

About 18 months ago my company car arrived, at about the same time as the big red 300 brick's MOT and tax expired. With work commitments increasing I didn't have the time to prep for an MOT so she's be SORN'd ever since. Last week Mrs Dufty decided that at fou*cough*ty years of age it's time...

what trailer is good for a disco

Fleabay's your best bet. I found one locally which fits my 6 man tent and a week's worth of crap for eating, fishing and amusing the kids and only cost £100.

whats the biggest size tyres I can put on my disco

    Auto fun and games

Bit late posting this but hey, it's been a busy couple of weeks. So, I fixed the beast but the repair wasn't without some problems. For anyone attempting this procedure I'd recommend the following: First, buy yourself a cheap 24mm spanner (ring & open) and cut it in half. The pipe which enters...

how many miles do you get to a full tank?

Did a round-trip to Swansea and back last week, with some running around whilst there. Brimmed it before setting off and drove about 480 miles in total (mostly motorway) and still had about a 1/4 tank left when I got home. Kinda surprised me to be honest.

    Auto fun and games

She's been leaking ATF for a while now but on Friday the big red beast decided to blow a hose and dump the remaining oil all over the engine bay  Managed to limp home at 5mp for the last mile or so (phew) and ordered a set of hoses and a gallon of ATF. Today I started the replacement...

    Random steering failure

Got a few days off this week and was planning to spend some time with the car anyway so will check while I'm out there. Hopefully I'll get away with re-tensioning.

    Random steering failure

Just started the drive to work the other morning and as I turned right at the roundabout 1/2 a mile from my house there was a weird, highish-pitched mechanical sound from the engine bay and my power steering failed. Next thing I know I'm almost on the roundabout (luckily my brakes still worked...

    Fender 300 auto... how to?

Hadn't thought about kids not facing forward. A 4 door would be more practical too... Hmm, plenty to think on. Ta.
