    uprated intercooler

It's a TD5 I have been offered a cheap performance intercooler which seems to fit the space with a bit of fettling however i need to be sure it won't foul the winch which is away being repaired at present. i just wanted some decent pics of how others have located theirs.

    uprated intercooler

Whilst the winch was off, see http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/superwinch-problem-129430.html I have started to remove the grill and looking for the oil leak which I'm sure is coming from the gearbox oil cooler (it's an auto) next task would be to remove the intercooler, but given the size of...

    superwinch problem

Update Gearbox is back together!! (that comment hides an afternoon of fiddling!!!). In retrospect I think it would have been easier to degrease it then re-pack with grease once assembled as it was the sticky gunge in the box (ooh-er missus!) that made it so tricky. I'd now like to pack a bit...

Cooper STT's or Insa Turbo Dakar???

no experience of the Coopers but the Dakars on mine have prompted me to search out a 2nd set of on-road wheels. Off road they're fine but too much movement in the tread and often feel the ABS kick in when braking on damp roads

    superwinch problem

OK, Update I've had the gearbox apart and found a problem with the planet gears where the outer ring slips out but won't re-engage. I think its sorted but I need to get the gears all back in the housing which I'm sure will be a straight forward job - NOT! the other end is indeed a seized...

    superwinch problem

the wire is neatly on the spool and the lever will not shift beyond 90 degrees when 'in' is 180 from where it sits at present. The spool does not seem to want to move but I'm reluctant to unspool any more because I won't be able to stow it. I will try to find the model number. thanks and...

    superwinch problem

My Disco came fitted with a Superwinch but I can't get it to work!!the solenoid 'clicks' when I switch it and the headlights dim as if the current is flowing but there's no movement. The clutch lever also seems to be stuck in the 'out' position but the wire won't reel off the winch. anyone...

    22" Alloys, what tyre presure?

the best starting point is to use the pressure given for the standard ones then adjust +/- 2psi and see if it feels better or worse for your driving. Remember to load the car as you use it most often (many drivers go around alone for 90% of the time but set up the pressures for a fully loaded...

    Steering wheel removal..

I think from this thread we've established that removal is possible but a bit of a 'faff' . From that it follows that no one else has done it before and therefore the wheel is on the 'centralised' splines already! Put the wheel to the straight ahead position and adjust the suspensin links to...

    Auto box overheating!

says it all in the title! started the Disco this morning in the snow and both the 'S' and 'M' lights flashed constantly, turned it off and restarted and they went out! So it may/may not be connected but later today went on a long M/way run (constant 60-70mph) for 40 mins when at the end coming...
