Nope, the manifold has been blowing for a few weeks, before I even took it off road. It does have a stage 1 remap from Alive, and I hear that can often cause the manifold to warp. I've been recommended a local company who will skim it for not much money, and am confident I can remove and refit...

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not sure about attempting an ECU repair myself, but I may have a proper look later to see if I can find any info / instructions about the repair procedure. At least the time off the road will give me a chance to get the exhaust manifold sorted :)

Fortunately not, the whole vehicle was lifted. The recovery guy said that towing defenders can cause big problems if done wrong (I'm glad he knew this, as I didn't!) Cheers

Thanks, I may do later, although I think I just need to get my ECU refurbed or replaced.

Hi! Well, it conked out and wouldn't restart. Seems the ECU is borked (topside switch and open injector faults reported). All part of the LR experience, I guess ;)

Hi all, I've took the the plunge last month and bought my first Land Rover, a Defender 90 TD5. I'm loving it so far, and have done a little light green laning to put it through it's paces. Here's a pic:eek::)
