Maybe I missed a seal when I did my bearing yesterday. I only put one on inner of hub, are there others? (I did do paper gasket...)

Removed my halfshafts this morning and managed to sheer one of the 5 bolts off flush with the hub surface. How do i remove it? I've got a stud extractor, but it needs some of the stud to be proud of the surface to use....

Hi Does anyone have a list of parts I need to order when replacing a diff for another? My list consists so far of: EP90 oil 2 x hub gaskets wd40 to loosen nuts & bolts Any advice appreciated - have to order parts tomorrow to have a chance of getting it done over Easter. Cheers

i run 255 65 16's on my standard disco steels.

If replacing my diff, are there gaskets or consumables (other than EP90) that I'm going to need?

So, AA confirmed my diff has met it's maker today. Have to find a second-hand one as I cant afford new or recon. Any advice appreciated on what to look for when purchasing please. Or, would it be better to get a complete axle? Am I correct in assuming all Disco 1's have same number of...

i dont think it's a straight swap. Manifold, exhaust downpipe, air intake and wastegate all different iirc

are you sure, you look like a 200tdi to me, with 300tdi parts. Post a few photos all round (including interior) and I'll confirm for you

easy peasy, just need a spanner (11mm iirc). You can get to it without jacking the car up, but wear goggles as you'll get rust in your eyes otherwise. Undo bolt, withdraw while holding the cup part, then give it a tap to release the seal. Careful as you might get a mouthful of diesel...

i have kingpin amazons as my MT set. On my previous disco, i did a 1000 mile trip (combination of A-Road/m-way & forest route/greenlanes). Could not fault them. Not that noisy either. For my every day tyres I run BF Goodridge A/Ts, but they are pricy!
