My 2005 Td4 differs from yours in that is has the sensor. However it shares with yours the same little persistant oil leak coming out of the inlet tube (even though it was changed). Nice to see it's standard...:D

Hi all, I know there have been threads about central locking but thought worth posting my question and doubts. Central locking has gone erratic, back door opens, doesn't open, central unlocking stops working, horn sounds to warn me for (apparantly) no reason, etc. Noticed today a strange one...

OK... I confess, it's mainly me. Just can't see a button without wanting to press it....

Bearing in mind I have two young children who sit in the back seat and who's eyes are drawn constantly towards the hdc button my question is - what happens if you press it when driving normally, ie. out of 1st or reverse gear? I figure probably nothing but I would like a more informed answer....

I bought a 2005 td4 about a month ago and when I mentioned in the dealership all the "famous" freelander problems I'd been hearing about he told me to expect the vcu to go at about 120k km and that it would cost about 600 euros to replace.

It's obvious. The poor thing's just telling you it prefers to be out driving ;)

thanks ming, thanks mondo..... I'm pretty sure the leak is coming from the tube so I'll have a look at your advice..... I'm sort of surprised that the lr mechanic looked at it and just tightened the connection around the tube, if theoretically oil (sorry, motor vapor in his words) sholdn't be...

Newbie back again after doing the Spanish version of green-laning, which is dust/rock-laning and it has worked great so far.
