You need to move down to this part of the country, we have had zero snow this year (or last year) and I think that have only had to scrape of some very light frost on 2 occassions this winter. Its only got down to Freezing on a couple of nights all year.

You have probably just stripped the thread from the soft aluminium sump. You can get thread repair kits such as heli-coil and few others, never used them, but I'm sure some on here can give you more information on them.

I recently had a similar discharge problem on my 03 Defender TD5 though it would discharge overnight as opposed to an hour or so. Spent ages trying to find the cause and in the end it turned out to be a tiny amount of oil which had worked its way along the wiring harness from the engine and...
