    200tdi runaway

So So high oil level would cause it? How would the oil be getting into the chamber?

    200tdi runaway

Hi all quick question before I head up to the yard to strip the top end. Just put a 200tdi that had been sitting for about a year in my 90. Started instantly on first turn over but runs away kicking out blue smoke, so presuming running on its own oil. When I take the intercooler to inlet hose...

    19j exhaust gas temps

Because a tdi came with the car, and they're slightly better, and why not, and who said I'm neglecting it and waiting for it to blow up?! And who said im not checking heat and changing oils. my question was what's a dangerous egt so I can get a gauge?

    19j exhaust gas temps

Yeah there's no way I'm spending money on it, just messing about with it until I rebuild the tdi lump in my garage. Figured I could use a egt gauge on that as well. I quite like the engine actually, just need to stop pushing it

    19j exhaust gas temps

I dont think the air intake temps causes it, it's just that an intercooler lowers the combustion chamber temp slightly. And hopefully a straight through exhaust will discard of the heat quicker. I turboed a 4.0 landcruiser and fitted a egt gauge because I was worried about the same thing and a...

    19j exhaust gas temps

I've got an intercooler and Rad temps are good. I'm gonna make a straight through exhaust and wanted to see if it reduces egt's at all. I think it should. Just want to see if I'm pushing it too hard because the main reason these engines fail is high egts so I've heard.

    19j exhaust gas temps

Anyone know what a dangerous temp for theses engines is? Need to know what egt gauge to get

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

I've just thought how to do it actually, nice one cheers for everyone's help

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

I see mate that switch is exactly what I'm after. All that will happen is the engine will cut out when I switch to 24v because I'll be disconnecting the 12v from the engine, or will it still run?

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

Yeah I kind of like that idea, 12v to 24v converter in the battery box going into a 24v battery supplying just the winch. Sounds cheap too. Thanks.

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

    T That'll still be only 12v though

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

Haha nothings wrong with 12v I got a 12000lb winch with the car so I wanna try and use it, if I can do for cheaper than a new one

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

I've seen 12v to 24v transformers (well they call it a converter??? Not sure what the difference is) but they only go up to about 30 amp which I don't think will be enough. I know if you wire batteries in series you get 24v but won't all my bulbs blow etc as soon as I flick it on? I can't find...

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

I've been looking for a few days and can't find a simple answer. Other than a big 12v to 24v transformer, which I can't find? Anyone else done it?
