    Replacement dampers

Question for all. What replacement dampers should I use. Want to improve the ride on the road. At the moment the Disco is on factory springs and shocks, with Air Lift spring assisters which are inflated for towing. Car mainly used for towing BIG caravan and a small amount of off roading...

    squeeking Disco

Probably not the reason, but having had numerous squeaks from what were thought to be various bearings etc my noises were eventually removed by changing the drive belts. Always used the standard belts but now will only use the Continental ones as they have a rough back. This also has the...

    lever on fuel pump

It also does not matter what position the lever is in as it is usually spring loaded and will return to it's 'parked' position.

    A dreadfull day

You have my deepest sympathy Mrsnoops, I have to replace one of mine, though it was not too bad to fail the dreaded MOT. Was under the car with the hose pipe & pressure washer getting all the s**t off, mow just wondering how much rust proofing wax to buy.

    steering wheel switches....help

I agree with Pedros, it depends on what is fitted, should you wish to change your head unit then Alpine is possibly one to go for as my switches were made to work the stereo. Apart from volume I can also select radio stations, change discs on the changer and change tracks. I think that there...

Extra switch locations. Ideas and pics please

Jongould, please please post how you made the metal plate and where you fixed the upper edge. I think that this idea will be ideal for my question about gauges that you kindly replied to. Thanks.

    How, where, what, adding instruments??

Thanks Jongould and Freediscoranger, any chance of some piccies when you have the chance. I have the tweeter speaker mounted to the A pillar, need to roughly work out if I can put a couple of gauges on the A pillar without it looking too chavvy.:scratching_chin:

    How, where, what, adding instruments??

Why? Because! Just thought I would give myself a project that would be useful as I would like to know what the turbo is doing. Also would like other people's ideas as to what is the best 'other gauge' to have. I am leaning towards oil pressure as the second.

    How, where, what, adding instruments??

I realize that this subject will have been covered before, but thought I would put my slant on the idea. Would like to add a boost gauge and possibly one other not too sure what would be best. Now for my problem; I can't put a binnacle in the middle of the dash over the tray/grill as no doubt...

How to remove door mirror glass

I know that this is not the answer you are looking for, but you could always do what I did and get sandwiched between two transits on a well known roundabout close to where I live. Highways decided to re-lane it with three lanes. OMG what a F**k up. No damage to the housings, but popped the...

    rear wiper issue

I know this has already been said, but mine required both front doors to be shut & the interior light to extinguish before working. I won't tell you how long it took me to work this out, but I used to have hair!!! Could it be the dreaded 'dry joint' syndrome like the rear windows?? Just a...

Wil a 300tdi pass emmisions with a de cat

Used a Defender down pipe on mine, easy to fit, just pass through from the front. Been through two MOT's no problem. One of the cleanest diesels my mot tester has seen, gets results as good as the modern stuff with all their complexity. Fairly sure that it will be OK next year when the rules...

    Stourbridge (WM) to Cornwall.

Anyone need anything transported anywhere between the above locations?? If so, drop me a line. Leaving Stourbridge on Friday AM. Have space for quite bulky stuff, but will have to share space with new oven/hob in large estate car. Sorry not using Landie, no cruise control.......yet!

300TDi...where to take power from fusebox area?

I used the redundant airbag terminal on the fusebox. As mine has no airbag there are a couple of spare terminals, all switced through the ignition, going spare and fused.
