Its confirmed i have a small exhaust outlet in front of the wheel in the n/s wheel arch - guess that was pretty jammy really as the previous owner didn't know it was fitted!!
Is it a serviceable item or does it require any routine maintenance? I can't find anything that relates to it in my...
That is very clever!! I will check under the n/s wheelarch for an exhaust then. Be quite nice if it does have it, were they fitted to many or would it have been quite an expensive option by Land Rover?

Ming - thanks for that, that's exactly what I had heard of before. Is there any way of actually confirming it has one?? Also does it work independently on it's own I.e switches on and off on some sort of thermostat?? And what's the idea behind it, as on this occasion it was on when I switched...
I only ask because the other night it was quite chilly and I drove home from work and parked the Freelander on the drive. I could hear a noise which I can only describe as similar to that which comes out a central heating boiler flue if you were stood outside?!? It only ran for 10 or 20 secs and...

I am after an all terrain type tyre for my '04 Sport however there seems very little choce in 235/50/18 size - can anyone recommend one??
I don't want to do any serious off-roading, it's just I need to launch my jetski at some less than solid locations so a little extra grip would...
Congratulations bud - glad you are pleased! I was made up wen I collected mine and enjoying every trip we take in it.
Get a couple of pics up - what colour etc. did you get?

Do they fit is basically what I need to know?!? Didn't know whether anyone had ever fitted RR alloys to a Freelander, I really like some of the replica styles they do but wondering if they are going to be too big/wide for the Freelander??
Any pictures if anyone has done it would be...
2.0 hippo - I am chuffed to bits with my TD4 Sport, I was unortunante to experience the clutch master cylinder failure but then reading these forums it seems a common fault and not a dear one to fix. It was also due a service so has just had a full 60k service which is good for peace of mind...
Optimus - if buying a used bar from eBay, will any Freelander 1 bar fit mine or do i need to look for an '03 onwards bar?? Wasn't sure if anything changed underneath in '03.
Also from a fitting point of view does it make any difference whether the bar is a 'flange' type or 'swan neck' do they...
A&D, Bridgwater Road, Wimscombe in Somerset have just impressed me, done a great job on my Freelander. Super friendly service backed up by some actual knowledge about Land Rovers and turned it round in 2 days.
Can't ask fore more than that.

Thanks Hippo - how do you find the grabbers on the road?? Do they generate much noise on a run.
Having said that somebody said I a a bit limited on tyre choice as I have 18's on my Freelander - not sure if that's correct or not.
Had a defender once - missus hated it, it leaked more oil than a...
That's a cracking vid Hippo! Think that answers all my questions.
Is your Freelander a standard road spec one or have you made improvements to allow you to tackle that sort of terrain?
It's good to know it's going to serve me and the family well, I feel confident we made the right choice.
Was...
Sounds a fairly straightforward task then - I don't suppose anyone has any pictures of the underneath of theirs or their installation?? Want to see these fitting points that have been mentioned but my Freelander is in for service.

I was just searching for tyre threads - the previous owner fitted Kuhmos which have plenty of life in them but as the winter draws nearer would quite like something a bit more suited to inclement conditions - would you recommend the Lattitudes for such use?
Where I live we got hit quite hard...
Well the stealer price was £490 for the 60k service and £230 for the clutc master cylinder, the indy came out at £300 for the 60k service and £190 for the clutch master cylinder.
So for the price of a service at the stealers I got a service AND clutch problem sorted!! It's being done as we...
Ah I see, well I have a Sport, no premium that I know off although it has very strange seat material - almost like Goretex outer bolsters with all I can describe as 'bubbles' in the centre panels?!?
Very unusual but great for me and with a new baby soon looks very wipe friendly!! Lol!!
