If your ECU is the old type, you could always send it to TD5Alive and the can replace a chip in it that will allow you to have it remapped, that's what he did for my 2001 Disco.

When my intercooler hose went, it looked fine but it came apart inside, the only way you can be sure it's not the hose is to remove it and look inside. it should only take about 10mins to check.

My understanding is that Easy Start will burn off carbon from in the head and on the tops of the piston, thus reducing compression. That's why the more you use it the more it needs the next time.
