    Calling electrical wizards!!

The wiring has originally been for front spots I would have said because it was tapped into the main beam feed, so I've tidied it up whilst doing the steering column and wiper rebuild. The aux stuff was just open wiring not doing anything so out it came. The scotch locks haven't broken the...

    Calling electrical wizards!!

I've fallen on the strangest headlamp query... Up until the other day my headlamps (defender 200) have always worked fine. I've changed the stewing column for a 48 spline, plugged all the dash harness back in as per, and the headlamps will only work in dim dip. Having searched and searched I've...

help. search wont work and its about tyres! sorry

2% difference will be fine mate, I regularly fit new tyres to a drive axle of a truck on one side, where the other side may be half worn. Just allows the bad side to run out until next service where we may then find part worns in the stores to match up with. Throw the part worn on it and get it...

    Steering column swap?

Nothing wrong with it, just wanting to update to the later 300 wheel as I'm working my way through the steering components anyway. Not a fan of the thin 4 spoke wheel and can't find a type C wheel in 36 spline flavour for love nor money! Thanks for the fast response mate.

    Steering column swap?

Evening chaps, does anybody know for sure if land rover used the same mounting points for steering columns throughout the years? I've been searching high and low and found out all the info regarding type a wheels and type c etc, 36 and 48 spline, but I want to track down a 48 spline column to...

calling all users of boost gauges!!

i put it in because upped the boost a little bit when i rebuilt the engine, and the only sensible way of knowing whats what when its been adjusted is by means of a gauge. So by what your saying Daz, the tyre size and disco box may well be loading the engine that bit more hence the boost levels...

300tdi flat out at 60?? End of my tether....

right then, update, Ive bust my thumb open on the 9.5mm drill bit, smashed my little finger against the steering box, but i have had a play with the timing. followed instruction, and i pegged the pump, lined up the marks on the crank and flywheel, slackened the 3 pump pulley bolts, held it with...

300tdi flat out at 60?? End of my tether....

Just read one of your previous posts on timing advance sorry, so I see where your coming from. Web you advantage pump clockwise, is that clockwise looking from the rad, as in turn the pump a fraction towards the engine?

300tdi flat out at 60?? End of my tether....

I've definitely had enough experience with landys to know its not in low box I set timing with pins etc when I changed the pump to one which I knew was a good one having driven it in a previous disco. Hole in the rear banjo bolt you say? Hmmm shall have to check that one, I have got clear...

300tdi flat out at 60?? End of my tether....

Hello all, as title says really, my 300 won't go above 60 for some reason and I'm hoping someone can shed some light. It's a disco engine, lt77 box, disco 1.2 transfer box with disco axles and she's screaming at 60-65, when I would of thought it should be cruising at that speed. So far I've done...

    Fitting safari to 200 issues

When fitting a safari snorkel to a 200tdi wing, I'm noticing that the snorkel is sitting on the inner intake screws, causing it to sit proud of the wing. Am I missing the point here or am I supposed to remove those screws? I've searched loads and can't find an answer. The snorkel is 2nd hand so...

    Effects of uprated steering damper

    Effects of uprated steering damper

It's only done about 30 miles lol, as I replaced the rtc damper before test so I doubt it's failed just yet. Thanks for the quick reply though any input is appreciated as I simply haven't got the time to start messing with preloads anytime soon. At least I can get an idea of where the problem is...

    Effects of uprated steering damper

Has got any opinions on the use of uprated steering dampers like the terrafirma normal one? Do uprated steering dampers generally make the steering heavier than o.e items? The steering feels heavy on my 90 and before I start delving into swivel preloads and steering box adjustments I want to...
