    Disco 2 Air Compressor mod/upgrade

Hi All, I have recently had air suspension issues that I don’t really want to have again. In terms of prevention/monitoring, has anyone fitted some kind of indication, gauge, ammeter etc to see when the compressor is running, but critically, to see that it is running when it shouldn’t be! Is...

Disco 2 ORM - What do these lights mean?

Ha ha, understood. Yes, perfectly fine following a restart. I did it twice to make sure. When the lights were flashing (so in 3rd gear) I was trying to get up an incline so now I know why it struggled/lacked power. What is that switch on the gearbox you mentioned?

Disco 2 ORM - What do these lights mean?

Thanks Jamesmartin. Yes, it totally lacked power. What is ‘rd’? What is the ‘xyz’ switch?

Disco 2 ORM - What do these lights mean?

When I set off in ORM, the Sports Mode light was flashing with an ‘M inside a gear light’ (Manual?). The D indicator on the speedo was also flashing, I haven’t seen these before. I took it out of ORM but could only get rid of the lights by restarting the engine. I might be being paranoid, but...

    Disco 2 Watts Linkage

Hi All, The centre Bush has failed and I get knocking from it. What are the general views on replacements... OEM? Genuine parts? Polybush? I use the Disco mainly for towing a horse box. With that in mind, does anyone have advice on replacement shocks? It has air springs.

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Just a quick update, all suspension issues resolved. In summary, an airbag split, caused the compressor to work hard and burnt the motor out. In addition, found a hole in the 4mm air line supplying the bag. 2 new springs, new compressor, relay and fuseable link replaced. I am going to...

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

I was trying to upload 2 images of the motor and housing from my iPad, but can’t upload them for some reason. Does anyone else have this issue?

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Today I spent a bit more time seeing as it was daylight and not raining. Stripped the compressor and motor down and the motor was pretty grim. New compressor, relays and fuseablelinks arriving tomorrow. Hopefully this will be the end and will be sorted!

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Thank you Turktowner, yes, I think it is the stem elbow on page 13. The fitting isn’t threaded. I have a solution and a root cause... post to follow.

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Nightmare! I’ve literally just ordered one. I would have bought yours if I had known.... Tested this morning, fused link blown. Removed compressor and connected directly to a 12v supply, nothing. Tested the motor and it is down to earth. New compressor, 3 relays and 3 fused links on their...

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Yes, definitely melted, but the melted bit pushes/fits inside the compressor body, I’m keen to know if it is a standard stem or something more special. I’m just off out to check the rest of the compressor so will let you know how I get on.

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Thanks neilly, just checked his site out and like the emergency air bag Schrader valves. I didn’t know about the compressor timing out... more pitfalls waiting for me.

    Disco 2 Air compressor fitting.....?

Hi All, First post so please be gentle! We have had our D2 for a while and are thrilled with it, predominately bought for towing a horse box. Unfortunately, it came home on Sunday on the back of a transporter after the nearside suspension sagged and the Boss (Wife) could smell a burning...
